The Daily Grind: Stacks and Aces

At times, the life of a streamer is rather perilous. Such is the case tomorrow. The hitters look savory enough, but the pitchers are on the edge of spoilage. Check it out in Streaming Wars.

1. The Daily Grind Invitational

It was a low scoring affair with mmddyyyy taking home the victory. His 110.1 points were nearly half the winning total from the previous day. Yasmani Grandal, Jake Bauers, and Harrison Bader fueled the bulk of his victory. Congrats and Leaderboard.

2. Weather Reports

More heavy weather. This time in Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington, and New York. As of now, it looks like all four games should happen with possible interruptions. Monitor.

3. Pitchers to Use and Abuse

Main Slate: I see aces for our nine game slate. Max Scherzer ($25,000) is the snazziest and (rightfully) the most expensive. Just when it looked like he was fading, he fired up 41 points against the Marlins last week. The Reds are a slightly more difficult opponent. Tyler Mahle ($11,800) is a reasonable value against a tough Nationals lineup. The win is unlikely and yet he could still easily outperform this price.

Clayton Kershaw is an absolute steal at $22,300 – even if we consider him somewhat reduced from his best years and worry about the upgraded Brewers offense. Speaking of premium thefts, Zack Greinke appears to be in top form and has a friendly matchup against the boring Giants. Sure, Madison Bumgarner counters Greinke to some extent, but I would definitely pass on his $18,600 price tag.

Mike Folynewicz ($20,200) looks awfully chalky versus a terrible Mets club. The win bonus is in the bag. Unfortunately, Folty usually only throws five innings these days. Nick Pivetta ($16,200) projects comparably versus the Marlins at a $4,000 discount.

The deepest into bargain land I’d wander is Mahle. Mike Montgomery probably deserves a nod, but he’ll have some trouble outkicking his $13,700. The lack of strikeouts hurts – even against the Padres.

Stack Targets: Robbie Erlin, Jason Vargas, Brandon Cumpton, Andrew Cashner, Brian Johnson, Pablo Lopez, Yovani Gallardo

Well, that’s no shortage of terrible, terrible pitchers.

4. SaberSim Says…

Scherzer, Kershaw, Greinke, Folty, and Pivetta are the top rated pitchers. That exact order wasn’t predictable at all. Felix Hernandez and, uh, Scherzer are the best playable values. Bats include Rhys Hoskins, J.D. Martinez, Mookie Betts, Giancarlo Stanton, and Javier Baez. Bargain hunters ought to try Jonathan Villar, Tim Beckham, and a bunch of bad Mets.

5. Pitchers Pitching

I did suggest Cole Hamels or Nick Kinham would be an important asset. I just wasn’t sure which one. Kingham only lasted an inning. Hamels dealt.

“Hello,” said Brian Dozier.

Carlos Carrasco at his best is a thing to see.
