1. Brexit Velocity
In political news, Diamondbacks outfielder Socrates Brito is the talk of twitter after he achieved Brexit velocity last night at Coors Field. Although the British took this as a sign to leave the European Union, Socrates is actually an agent of the Greek.
2. The Daily Grind Invitational and Leaderboard
Congrats to KingTrout! He’s running hot on both sites. I hope he had a few GPP entries to go with his recent binge of winning. In a low scoring contest, Wei-Yin Chen and Derek Norris carried KT’s roster. The leaderboard is updated.
We’ll do FanDuel again tonight with all the usual parameters. See ya there.
3. Daily DFS
It’s a full 15 game throw down. Aces include Max Scherzer at Milwaukee, David Price at Texas, Steven Matz at Atlanta, and Danny Salazar at Detroit. Remember, road games have a slightly negative effect on win rate.
I’ll be going to Kyle Hendricks wherever I can afford him. The Cubs righty is opposed by Tom Koehler and the Marlins. He should receive enough run support for the win. Hendricks is in the midst of a breakout season. He’ll be ace priced before long. For now, he’s slightly more affordable than the top pitchers.
Jameson Taillon had an eight-inning, near no hitter two starts ago. Then the Cubs beat up on him. He’s at home versus the Dodgers in what I consider to be one of the highest variance starts available. I would bet on the low end of the range, and thus stay away from him. However, I’m not entirely opposed to using him opposite Nick Tepesch. Should be an easy victory.
For $100 less than Taillon (on FanDuel), you can roster Zach Davies or Jake Peavy. Both pitchers are running hot (and lucky). Davies has the tougher opponent – Scherzer and the Nationals in a hitter friendly park. Peavy is hosting the lowly Phillies at AT&T Field. He’s pitched well in his last five starts.
Stack Targets: Aaron Blair, Eric Surkamp, Tepesch, Colin Rea, Zach Eflin, Tyler Anderson, Nick Martinez, Wade LeBlanc, Cody Reed, Archie Bradley, Jered Weaver, Tommy Milon, Yovani Gallardo, Koehler, Matt Moore
4. SaberSim Observations
Well, well, well. Here we have Scherzer, Price, Matz, and Salazar topping the list. Masahiro Tanaka rounds out the top five. Who’s the sixth guy you ask? Wade LeBlanc. I assume that’s an early morning oversight. SaberSim does update throughout the day, so check in closer to game time.
On the stacking front, we have a Coors game, Red Sox, Blue Jays, Cubs, and Reds to call upon.
5. Tomorrow’s Targets
Public Service Announcment: The Orioles and Rays have a doubleheader.
Pitchers to Start: Technically speaking, Michael Pineda is 63 percent owned. However, he’s increasingly available in 12 team leagues, so let’s talk about him. The righty has been better than ever at inducing whiffs with 10.24 K/9 and a 14 percent swinging strike rate. Unfortunately, a .372 BABIP and 16.9 percent HR/FB ratio have led to a 5.82 ERA. His 3.39 xFIP is rosterable in all formats, although I do expect him to be homer prone going forward. A matchup against the Twins should help him get back on track. Beware, they do have a few decent left-handed power bats.
Also consider: Mike Fiers, Jeremy Hellickson
Pitchers to Exploit: Matt Garza has pitched 10 innings of one run ball since returning from the disabled list. His stuff looks largely identical to last season when he posted a 5.63 ERA and 4.50 xFIP. I’ll bet on the Nationals at Miller Park. Too bad none of them are really streamable.
Also consider: R.A. Dickey, Miguel Gonzalez, Anibal Sanchez, Brandon Finnegan, Shelby Miller, Jorge de la Rosa, Paul Clemens, Chris Young, Jeff Locke, A.J. Griffin, Jhoulys Chacin,
Hitters (power): I derive joy from recommending particularly terrible players in actually playable situations. Such is the status of Nick Ahmed. The defense-first shortstop is hitting .264/.289/.403 versus southpaws. More importantly, the game is at Coors Field. If you don’t need a middle infielder, Rickie Weeks is a safer bet.
Also consider: Adam Lind, Seth Smith, Kolten Wong, Enrique Hernandez, Trayce Thompson, Howie Kendrick, Tommy La Stella, Yangervis Solarte, Justin Smoak
Hitters (speed): Angel Pagan is quietly hitting at a league average rate as the Giants fifth, sixth, or seventh hitter. He has six steals through 167 plate appearances.
Also consider: Whit Merrifield, Melvin Upton
6. The Factor Grid
The table below indicates which stadiums have the best conditions for hitters today. The color coding is a classic stoplight where green equals go for hitters. The weather conditions are from SI Weather’s home run app. A 10/10 means great atmospheric conditions for home runs. A 1/10 means lousy atmospheric conditions.
The top hitter and the top pitcher parks are available today. Enjoy.

Do you think Bradley is worth a start @COL today in a H2H matchup on the chance that he’s at least better than Anderson? I’d need 3.30 ERA/1.30 WHIP and good W probability for it to help. thanks!
No.
