Episode 143
The latest episode of “The Sleeper and the Bust” is now live! RotoGraphs writer Brett Talley steps into the lineup with Nicholas Minnix to discuss the Seattle Mariners’ apparent interest in David Price and Ben Zobrist; a breakdown in talks for Ian Kennedy; and a trade rumor about Jonathan Papelbon. We then talk about players returning from absences: Jean Segura, Starling Marte, Evan Gattis, Emilio Bonifacio, Shane Victorino, Carlos Ruiz, and Geovany Soto. We discuss the health situations of Joey Votto, Miguel Cabrera, and Jordan Zimmermann. We then briefly get into some news about Kevin Gausman and Taijuan Walker before closing with a couple of previously requested pitchers, Yordano Ventura and Marcus Stroman.
As usual, don’t hesitate to tweet us or comment with fantasy questions so that we may answer them on our next episode.

Hey Nicholas. I have a strategy request that could be an interesting topic of discussion. I play in a deep dynasty league (24 teams with 25 keepers). My team has been bad for several years through a rebuilding effort. Right now I’m in a situation similar to the Pirates. The team is young (average age 25) and is on the cusp of competing, but not quite there. How do you balance staying the course on the rebuild versus making some costly trades to get over the hump? Thanks, and great work on the podcast!
If you’re confident in your ability to find anything on the WW, go ahead and deal 3-4 good players for an elite guy. You can always pick up more prospects.
Appreciate the kind words. We tend to put general strategy stuff on the back burner, at least at this time, because it’s a heavy news period, but I’m going to try work things like this in soon thereafter.
