You got the URL for today’s Roto Riteup from a bathroom stall, didn’t you? Any press is good press, I suppose.

• Jose Reyes may have hit .220 in the first month of his Marlins’ career, but he’s brought his average up to .280 over the past handful of months. With all the roster turnover in Miami, it’s easy to forget that Reyes has put up another elite season. Staying healthy is all that stands in the way of Reyes and consistent top-6 status, but odds are the shortstop will be gone at the end of the first round in 2013 drafts.

• If I told you before your 2013 draft that you could have a first baseman who hit 30 homers while hitting .300 in 2011 (while in the minors) and followed it up with 20 homers and a .286 average in 2012 (while in the majors), how much would you pay for such a player? This player is Paul Goldschmidt, and he’s going to be entering his age-25 season in one of the best hitters’ parks in all of baseball. Oh, and don’t forget Goldy has already stolen 15 bags in only 17 tries this year.

• Chris Denorfia’s contract extension means the Padres are going to want to use him over the next few years. Denorfia is one of the better platoon outfielders in the league, given his ability to man all three defensive positions and teach left-handers a lesson or two. Denorfia is hitting .346 against southpaws this year, and .319 against them over the span of his seven seasons in the bigs. Denorfia is a great guy to have on your bench if you’re looking to maximize your games and play the matchups.

• A quick and dirty stat check that’s worth performing towards the end of the season is the doubles leaderboard. If you find a younger player not known for his speed that is hitting a ton of doubles but not producing big HR numbers, you may want to bump their value up next year in hopes that some of those will be leaving the yard. I mentioned Paul Goldschmidt earlier, and he’s one of those guys going into this offseason.

• Jesus Montero on the road this year: .311/.340/.468 with a .339 BABIP. He’ll be fine, people, as long as you’re willing to wait for the Mariners to move to New Mexico and become the Albuquerque Ice Men.

question – i have jed lowrie coming off the DL and need to drop a player. do i drop carlos quentin, since he’s got knee issues? or do i just drop lowrie? pretty stable at the other positions and i need to keep everth cabrera @ SS for his steals (a couple of steals away from moving up in the standings).
