Roto Riteup: May 4, 2017
The Roto Riteup would like to remind you to have a safe Cinco de Mayo, but a shot of tequilla always make the Roto Riteup go down smoothly.

Various News and Notes
According to manager Dave Roberts, Cody Bellinger has “done everything he can” to stick at the Major League level. Coupled with the news that Adrian Gonzalez may have a herniated disk in his back, it appears Bellinger may have a greater chance of staying up after Joc Pederson returns from the DL. Gonzalez, who did start in yesterday’s game, has been troubled with both forearm and back issues for the past few weeks.
According to the NY Post, Noah Syndergaard will miss at least three months because of the partially torn lat he suffered. Syndergaard is flying to Los Angeles on Friday for a second opinion on the injury.
Logan Forsythe was pulled from his rehab assignment after only two innings yesterday. Reports earlier in the day had stated that he was dealing with some hamstring tightness. Hopefully this is nothing too serious, but it is definitely something to monitor as we had expected him to be back this weekend or early next week.
Cuban prospect Luis Robert worked out for the Padres on Tuesday. Robert is widely considered the best import that will come out of Cuba this year. He will officially be a free agent at the end of the month. Depending on if Shohei Otani decides to officially leave Japan for the Majors, Robert will most likely be the top pick in most supplemental drafts next year and is a name to watch for dynasty and keeper leagues.
Cole Hamels was placed on the DL with a strained oblique. He strained the muscle while warming up for his scheduled start on Tuesday. He is expected to miss eight weeks.
Bad News: Sean Doolittle was placed on the 10-Day DL with a shoulder strain.
Good News: The closer situation in Oakland just got a bit more clear for the time being.
Marcus Stroman left Wednesday’s start with discomfort in his right armpit. Aaron Judge had just hit a homerun off of him.
Aaron Judge destroyed a baseball that then destroyed a TV in one of the @Yankees new outfield terraces.

Not that it is super relevant, I just thought I’d brighten the mood of what has turned into a super depressing Roto Riteup.
Kevin Gausman was ejected from yesterday’s game after he hit Xander Bogaerts with a pitch in the second inning.

Both the Orioles and Red Sox had been warned by MLB to cease the throwing at each other, but this was a pretty awful ejection for Gausman. Adam Jones was also ejected in this game later in another display of Umpiring Gold. While both teams had been warned, it doesn’t appear that Gausman should face any further punishment from the league for the incident. This appears to be just a case of an ump with a quick trigger.
George Springer will take the day off today according to manager AJ Hinch. No injury concern, just a day off. Set lineups accordingly.
Streaming Pitcher Options
A pitcher for today: Brian Johnson vs BAL
You like BOLD? Johnson wasn’t sharp in his first MLB start this year, but has been in AAA including his last start where he struck out 6 over 8 innings. Probably best as an AL only streamer or GPP play.
A pitcher for tomorrow: Mike Foltynewicz vs STL
Folty has looked good as of late, since a rough couple of starts to start off the season. In his last three starts he has a 1.80 ERA and a 8.1 k/9.

That Gausman ejection is something else. Like really, he meant to hit him with a 77MPH curveball??? #umpshow
I don’t believe Gausman could hit anything with that pitch.
