Various News and Notes
Rich Hill was pulled in the seventh inning of his outing against the Tigers, and later diagnosed with a groin strain that will put his next scheduled start in jeopardy. Hill’s ERA sits at 2.25 for the year, with 74 strikeouts in 64 outings.

Hyun-Jin Ryu suffered yet another setback yesterday after experiencing some soreness in his shoulder after his most recent rehab assignment. Ryu, who was originally slated to return last July or August, has yet to pitch in the bigs since mid-September, 2014. Once a quiet frontline fantasy starter, Ryu’s career may actually be in trouble at this point. He’ll continue to try to come back — that much is at least required from a player under contract — but DL stashes seem unworthy at this juncture.

Carlos Gomez will be activated from the disabled list tomorrow, the first day the team is allowed to do so. Gomez, coming back from a rib injury, didn’t suck in his rehab assignment, but the same can’t be said for his last 10 months or so as a Houston Astro. The Astros are going to give him a shot to prove he’s not a dud, but his leash is limited after striking out over a third of the time before hitting to DL.

Streaming Pitcher Options
If you enjoy streaming pitchers or play DFS, tune into the Roto Riteup for recommendations each and every day.

A pitcher for today: Matt Andriese at KC (Ian Kennedy)
Kennedy is a worthy opponent, and while Andriese isn’t anything to write home about, he’ll be available and very cheap.

A pitcher for tomorrow: Tyler Duffey at OAK (TBD)
Duffey didn’t do so great last time out, but he’s still a solid starter and Oakland should suit him nicely.

What’s intersting with Adam Conley is the slow but steady drop in his FB velocity as the season has progressed. His pitching performance has dropped just as gradually after an impressive cup of coffee, a great spring training and a solid first several starts. I wonder if he’s healthy.
