Roto Riteup: June 6, 2016

Today’s Roto Riteup author has dealt with 90 degree temperatures for the past two days, and is currently awaiting the sweet release of death.

Kyle Seager, April: 94 PA, 5 HR, 0 SB, .159/.266/.378
Kyle Seager, May: 121 PA, 5 HR, 0 SB, .361/.421/.630

Various News and Notes
Corey Seager is on fire, hitting five homer in his three game set against the Atlanta Braves. Seager’s now hit 14 homers this year and his batting average sits at .286. Seager should be considered, along with fellow youngster Carlos Correa, as top shortstops going forward, depending on whether or not Manny Machado will be eligible long-term (i.e. after 2017).

Staying in L.A., Scott Kazmir was pulled after five innings do to cramping in his left leg. Prior to leaving, Kaz had struck out five and walked one.

Jose Fernandez continues to be a strikeout machine, striking out 14 Mets in his seven innings pitched yesterday. Fernandez’s curveball looks otherworldly right now, and he might strike out 200 batters even if he’s on an innings limit.

Streaming Pitcher Options
If you enjoy streaming pitchers or play DFS, tune into the Roto Riteup for recommendations each and every day.

A pitcher for today: Jon Niese vs NYM (Steven Matz)
Niese will face his former club for the first time, and will have the luxury of being at home where the power of Yo can be mildly suppressed.

A pitcher for tomorrow: Nick Tropeano at NYY (Michael Pineda)
Tropeano isn’t an awesome play in the joke of a stadium that is in New York, but there’s not many great options available.
