Closer Chaos

Dylan Lee threw 1.1 innings without allowing a baserunner and striking out two to register the save on Monday against the Mets.

Lee appears to be the lead candidate for saves since Raisel Iglesias lost the role, but it is hard to tell what Atlanta’s approach will be considering it has been a while since their last save. He should be rostered in most formats at least for now.

Quick Hits
Eugenio Suarez left Monday’s game after being hit with a pitch.

X-rays were negative, so it appears he avoided serious injury. Consider him day-to-day at this time.

Josh Naylor left Monday’s game with shoulder soreness.

Consider him day-to-day at this time.

Corbin Carroll will be placed on the IL with a fracture in his wrist. He suffered the injury last week on this play.

There is no timetable for his return, but typically these types of injuries sap power, so if he is going to miss extended time, he may become droppable in a lot of formats.

Various News and Notes
Trevor Rogers threw eight scoreless innings versus the Rangers, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out four in the victory on Monday.

Rogers didn’t dominate in terms of having overwhelming stuff with less than 20% whiff rate on virtually all his pitches. He did keep them off balanced by mixing and matching well and inducing weaker contact. Rogers has been fantasy viable before, but this isn’t necessarily a super intriguing profile outside of deeper leagues.

Eduardo Rodriguez threw six scoreless innings versus the White Sox, allowing just five hits and two walks while striking out 10 in the victory on Tuesday.

E-Rod was very fastball heavy in this one, but he also got a 33% whiff rate on his cutter and sinker and a 29% whiff rate on his changeup. He needs health to stay healthy in order to get back to relevance, but this is a step in the right direction.

Luke Raley went 1-for-2 with a home run in the victory over the Twins on Monday.

Raley has only played in 27 games this season due to injury, but he has hit three home runs and has stolen two bases in those games. He has power and speed, but he will be mostly a strong side platoon bat that can come out of games early like he did in this one. If you can optimize him in leagues, he can be very useful.
Streaming Pitchers (Under 50% in CBS)

Pitcher for Today: Charlie Morton vs TEX

Morton has been great as of late and the Rangers have not been good this season.

Other Options: Ryne Nelson at CHW, Andrew Heaney at MIL, Chris Paddack vs SEA, Michael McGreevy vs CHC, Ryan Berget vs WAS.

Pitcher for Tomorrow: Jacob Lopez at DET

I don’t know how much I trust Lopez start to start, but he has been great recently and he is away from Detroit.

Other Options: Edward Cabrera at SF, Colton Gordon vs PHI, Didler Fuentes at NYM.

For those of you that would like to see how these picks play out, I have a doc I put together to track the stats from my recommended pitchers. It does not include the “Other Options.”
