Various News and Notes
Michael Toglia went 3-for-5 with two home runs in the victory over the Nationals on Tuesday.
Toglia just got recalled from AAA where he was hitting well, but still striking out at a 29% clip. He needs to keep the strikeouts in check if he wants to be able to unlock the power that is apparent in his bat.
Cam Smith went 4-for-5 with two home runs in the victory over the A’s on Tuesday.
Smith was a part of the Astros barrage of homers in Sacramento. He has struggled this season, but the talent is still apparent at moments. He is making more contact in June so this is a good sign things may be coming together.

Starting Friday, the Rockies are home for 4 of their next 5 series with 3 of the 4 home series against below average staffs by ERA. Time to fire up all the Rockies you can pull in off the waiver wire
In a similar but unrelated vein, starting Monday, the Rays play 13 of their next 19 series on the road before going back to a balanced home/road schedule in September. So far this year Rays hitters have put up a .320 wOBA at home and .307 on the road. On the pitching side it’s a 3.40 ERA and 3.51 xFIP at home vs a 3.51 / 4.39 on the road.
Might be a good time to start thinking about selling high on your Rays. . . .
