Various News and Notes

Mike Trout is human: he got himself hurt. Trout is fine, but may need to miss a just a day or two.

The Yankees need a first baseman, and they will turn to…drumroll please…Ike Davis! If we’re being generous, Davis was last a solid MLB player back in 2014, but he was not so good last season as a member of the Oakland Athletics. The short porch in right will be tempting for Davis, so perhaps he’ll put together a nice little run of power, but nothing else.

Hyun-Jin Ryu made a rehab start last night, striking out a trio of High-A hitters in his three innings of work. The Dodgers could use some reinforcements in their rotation, but they’re going to have to be patient with Ryu, as he could probably benefit from another 5-6 outings as he builds up his strength.

Staying in LA, the Dodgers have activated Frankie Montas off the DL, and he will report to Triple-A. Montas will be another rotation option for the Dodgers, though as a younger player, he won’t have the same quasi-automatic path that Ryu will.

Juan Uribe took a grounder to his crotchal region yesterday afternoon, so expect him to miss a couple days.

Streaming Pitcher Options
If you enjoy streaming pitchers or play DFS, tune into the Roto Riteup for recommendations each and every day.

A pitcher for today: Daniel Wright at ATL (Aaron Blair)
Wright doesn’t have good stuff, but the Braves will fail just fine without your help, thank you very much.

A pitcher for tomorrow: Josh Tomlin at KC (Chris Young)
Tomlin in a spacious ballpark and against a homer machine should go quite well.

Too bad I didn’t read this column yesterday; I could’ve picked up Wright in a deep league.
Crotchal region? Why can’t you just say crotch? Are you expecting evangelicals to read this column? Well, you just coined a new word—I’m pretty sure it doesn’t exist.

JK dude, JK. Wow is right. Does every comment need a lol after it? Besides, it might help to know that I was a proofreader once. You could say that I was trained to be just a little bit obsessive about language. At least he didn’t use the word notoriety incorrectly. Now that makes my teeth grind.
