Closer Chaos
Tyler Kinley threw a perfect inning, striking out two on Monday to register the save against the Mets on Monday. With Victor Vodnik hitting the IL, Kinley appears to be the leading candidate for saves in Colorado. There may not be a ton of opportunities because the Rockies aren’t very good, but if you are saves needy, he is widely available.
Quick Hits
Joey Bart was placed on the IL with a hamstring strain. There is no timetable for his return. Henry Davis was called up to the Majors to take his spot on the roster.
Cole Ragans left his start on Monday with leg cramps.

This doesn’t sound too serious. Consider him day-to-day at this time.
Xavier Edwards was placed on the IL with a back strain. The hope is he will be able to return after a minimum stay.
Ryan Mountcastle was placed on the IL with a wrist injury. The hope had been he could avoid the IL, but the Orioles needed the roster spot. The move is retroactive to August 23rd and the hope is he will be able to return after a minimum stay.
Various News and Notes
Pete Crow Armstrong went 3-for-5 with three stolen bases in the victory over the Pirates.

PCA has been really good in the month of August, hitting .305 with four home runs and six stolen bases. He has improved his contact numbers in the process which is really intriguing because he has long struggled with consistent contact. If he can keep up this improvement, he would have a lot of value in fantasy because of his league average power and blazing speed. Even if he has struggles, his amazing defense could give him a regular role.
Parker Meadows went 1-for-5 with a home run in the victory over the White Sox on Monday.

Meadows has been really good since being recalled, hitting .333 with two home runs and five stolen bases for the Tigers. He is striking out less than 20% of the time and leading off for the Tigers which is intriguing in spite of being on the strong side of a platoon. He is definitely looking more like the guy that was a sleeper heading into the season.

Does anyone know why that TOR/BOS game was suspended and not just rained out? I cant find an answer anywhere, but usually when a game is less than 5 innings and it rains the stats are wiped out. Did I miss a rule change?
The rule was changed in 2020 when games were being played during the outset of the pandemic and was retained going forward. https://www.mlb.com/glossary/rules/suspended-game
Nevermind, apparently the 2020 COVID rule was made permanent.
