Roto Riteup April 2, 2017

We don’t have a lot of stuff to go over, but real baseball is about to be played and that’s all that matters. Tell your loved ones you will see them in October.

On the Agenda

  1. Beltre and Gallo
  2. AT&T Parker

Beltre and Gallo

Adrian Beltre will start Opening Day on the disabled list. That means 23-year-old Joey Gallo will get the starting job for the Rangers at third base.

And just like I said to the last guy who asked me out on a date, “no, thank you.”

Gallo has unbelievable power, but that power stays in Triple-A. He hit 25 balls over the fence last season in the minors, but once he was promoted, it was a different scenario. Just one hit in 25 at-bats. I won’t go over the slash line to save you some grief, but his strikeout rate alone (63.3-percent) will talk you out of most fantasy situations. Daily fantasy wise, I would think about it. That’s a lot of raw power to be ignored.

AT&T Parker

Having someone like Barry Bonds say you’re a decent outfielder is kind of a compliment right?

Jarrett Parker had just 151 plate appearances last season with the Giants so it’s not a small sample size, but that still wasn’t enough time to prove the type of player he could be.

That is, until now.

Parker is someone to love in so many ways. A 29.1-percent strikeout percentage with 12.6-percent on the walk side. He’s not going to swipe a lot of bags for you, but he will get on base. He’s more than likely batting towards the bottom of the lineup so if you like an 8-1-2 stack for you DFS-ers I wouldn’t talk you out of it and he won’t be expensive.

He’s going to hit a lot of groundballs (49.1-percent career) too so watch out for that and his HR/FB ratio is low, but playing at Chase this week could be interesting to see. Maybe those balls will fly, you never know.

Pitchers to start:

Madison Bumgarner vs. Arizona

Masahiro Tanaka vs. Tampa Bay
