Do you have a moment to talk about our savior Adam Wainwright?
At the ripe old age of 32, Waino blanked the Reds in Cincinnati. While Waino’s four walks in seven innings was uncharacteristic, the monster right-hander had nine Ks and a 50% GB% to go along with making Joey Votto look like a regular human being at the plate. Waino isn’t overly electric nor young, so he doesn’t seem to get the hype he so richly deserves each year. He’s so good, and he’s super fun to watch.

Aces’ reeling
Although he came through with a bullshit W, Cliff Lee flat out got smacked by the Rangers, allowing eight earned over five innings, only managing to strike out one. Lee was throwing strikes as per usual, but the Rangers did something right and managed to get to one of baseball’s best starters.

Stephen Strasburg didn’t get hit around nearly as much as Lee, but he did surrender three runs in his first inning of work, and another in the second. Strasburg did manage to mow down 10 batters in just six innings, so not all was lost in Washington.

The other starters who got rocked a bit are Aces in Name Only: Tanner Scheppers allowed Lee to pick up the win, and Jorge De La Rosa couldn’t hang with the Marlins in spacious Miami.

Early injuries
Jose Reyes was pulled from Opening Day after a single AB, as his hamstring just couldn’t quite hold up to the rigors of adult baseball. Reyes will have an MRI today to figure out what’s wrong.

Wilson Ramos messed up his hand at some point Monday, though X-Rays did not show any broken bones. Many feared the worst for Ramos, who has shown he can spice up a fantasy lineup when on the field.

Ramos’ teammate Bryce Harper scared America yesterday after getting a swinging roundhouse kick to the head, but the phenom used his mighty muscles to stave off injury.

The Daily Five

1B – Justin Morneau @ MIA — $4,000
Morneau goes up against Nate Eovaldi, who doesn’t fool anyone. Morneau may be away from Coors, but I still like him.

3B – Aramis Ramirez vs ATL — $4,000
A-Ram gets to square off against Alex Wood, whom I like in general but don’t love against the veteran.

OF – Marlon Byrd @ TEX — $2,900
Byrd gets to face off against a lefty in Marin Perez, that’s why I’m all about him. Byrd is also quite the DraftKings bargain, if you ask me.

SP – Brett Anderson @ MIA — $6,000
JDLR may have struggled, but I’m betting on Anderson and using him outside of Coors before he hurts himself.

SP – Drew Hutchison @ TB — $6,300
Getting Hutch outside of Toronto is going to be key to utilizing him. I love his stuff and hope he can maintain some command of the zone.
