JP: While trying to price enforce in my NL auction, I ended up with Megill along with Duran and Santana. Which one should I trade? I’m thinking Duran since he is the most valuable.

Justin Mason: I would probably trade Megill depending on the return. I just don’t trust the health long term.

Meet the mets: Hi Justin.  Would you rather roster J Polanco or Baty in a 12 team roto?  Is Baty going to continue to play full time?  Thanks

Justin Mason: I would. I believe in what we saw with Baty last season and I think the upside is very high. Wednesday will be key for his playing time as it’s the first time the Mets are playing a lefty this season.

Abel?: Hi Justin.  Does Abel’s relief appearance and struggles in that appearance scare you at all?

Justin Mason: No, I am not worried yet

Christina: im in a 14t H2H dynasty with Carp, Frelick, DeLauter, Friedl and Stowers (on IL) in OF. I could probably drop a spare Holds guy to pick up Walker, Lowe, Carter, or stash Crews. Am I right to hold off with the group I have or cave to FOMO? If the latter, who’s the target?

Don’t Have a Cowser: Which OF to keep in an OBP league, Grisham or Cowser?

Billy: Zach Eflin seems  like he should be picked up in 12 team mixed — agree?

Justin Mason: Completely agree

Willie: In 10 team mixed with daily moves, would you rotate through left-handed power bats – Barger, Carpenter, Abreu, Baty, Muncy, Wallner – based on park/pitcher matchups, or are there 1 or 2 on that list worth holding?  In the early going, kinda got to make decisions quick, like whether to pick up Abreu for awhile (necessitates dropping Barger or Carpenter).  Baty might be worth a little extra to me for 2B eligibility.

Justin Mason: I would mostly go by pitcher matchups and then factor in park when there are extreme park factors like Cincy, Colorado, Sac. . Baty for me is the top of this list.

Mika I: It’s only been a couple of days, so why not overreact?  It sure seems like Murakami has the plate discipline and power to be a ROY contender and impact player.  Thoughts?

Justin Mason: It’s too early, but I have been impressed.

Mike: How confident are you that Wheeler or Hunter Greene will be productive this year in H2H format where playoff roster matters more than the regular season?

Justin Mason: Not super confident at all

Mike: Is it Lucy pulling away the football again to have drafted Matt McLain and Royce Lewis?

Mike: 12-team, 5-OF H2H league, how confident are you in guys like Cassie, Scott, and Benge for two spots.  Are waiver players like L. Raley, Garrett Mitchell, and Cam Smith an upgrade from any?

Justin Mason: I feel pretty good about those three especially in a league size where those options are available.

James: I added Emerson Hancock and Randy Vazquez last night by significantly outbidding my league mates. I dumped nobody significant but am feeling maybe I jumped the gun, What is your take on these two pitchers?

Justin Mason: I am not huge fan of Vasquez to be honest. Vasquez did add velo spring but the stuff isn’t impressive. Hancock is interesting. The addition of a sweeper this offseason gives him a more well rounded repertoire that can work in Seattle.

South Sider: In Cole Ragans first start, his velo was down and he gave up two homers to lefties. How worried should I be?

Justin Mason: A little but not enough to do anything yet.

Tim: Who would you rather have as a dynasty backup for Betts? I already have Williams, but available are Winn, Lee, Nunez, Ortiz. The optimal situation is that they could potentially bridge the gap to Josuar Gonzalez someday.

ashtray: Small sample size and all but the early peripherals on Jordan Walker and Spencer steer look really good. Anything there or just a blip of a 10 PA sample?

Justin Mason: I would be fine dropping Ober, but I don’t want either of those two steps. I would drop Estevez for for Erceg or Baker

Justin Mason: Because the stuff is so GIFable, but its a mirage.

Matt: I have Fairbanks and Sir Anthony….I just raised Erceg to $ on the FA bidding, should I raise Sands too? I’m afraid of the landed gentry

Justin Mason: I think I would just go for Erceg. Minnesota feels like a committee on a bad team

Bata: With JJ wetherholt seeming like the real deal, is there a better team in MLB at developing young players?  Raniel Rodriguez might be knocking ont eh door soon as well

Justin Mason: I would still have him behind most of this group. Is he more viable than before? Yes. Do I think he turns into a stud? No. Abel especially has a ton more upside and I think Liberatore and Mlodzonski do too.

Justin Mason: I think Walker should be pretty dependable. Reworked his mechanics in the offseason and looked good in spring

Guest: Do you think Cole Sands is the Closer for MIN or does Taylor Rogers work in? If so, what’s the % for each on saves

Justin Mason: I think it is likely 40-40-20 for someone else

RAGBRAI: Mlodznski look pretty good in his first start. Does he offer consistency in his starts? 3.75 ERA seem plausible, with lots of Ks?

Justin Mason: I think he is probably more of a low 4s guy with a lot of strikeouts.

Justin Mason: Definitely has upside though

Tim: I rage quit on Javier for Mlod, may have been rash but I talked myself into it. Was there anything you saw in May, and Detmers or can they go too? I was gonna try to hold out until at least Yesavage comes back.

Marty: OPS League. How do you feel about Teoscar vs Murekami right now?

Justin Mason: I still have Teoscar above him. I want to see what happens to Murekami after pitchers adjust to him.

Cash: In a 12-team mixed espn league, with daily moves but a certain DH/SP can only be played at one or the other on any given day, where should you play him – P, DH, or choose based on pitching matchups?  Caveat that he’s also my best pitcher (probably).

Justin Mason: Hitter mostly

Dips: Is Hancock’s velocity dip a product of a) not being built up yet or b) something to be worried about for other reasons (mechanical, injury etc). In the case of Sheehan, it seems like all sides are attributing to a mechanical issue but I just wonder if this is an early baseball season thing that is more common, but with more data we’re all paying more attention these days.

Justin Mason: It’s something I am monitoring, but I want to see what the velo is at next start before I look to panic

Taco Grande: Are you panicking at all over the elite reliever implosions over the weekend? Abreu, Estrada, Jax, Duran, Dominguez all struggled (that I saw). I remember a year ago bailing on Jax after a three early implosions in a SHOLDS league and totally regretted it. Anyone on that list you’re ready. To move on from?

Pecorino Romano: Can I get odds on Romano as main halos closer ros? I know he’s mediocre, but so are pom and yates, and Joyce, when back, is someone they’ve held out of saves before…

Roman, oh: I have Romano in al only obp and thinking about a trade. My weak spots are Austin Hays and Brice Matthews. Should I move Romano for someone like Denzel Clarke or Bryan Rocchio or just hold?

Justin Mason: I am stashing him in one league. Looked better in spring before the injury.

Luke: 12 team mixed keeper league with OPS and NSV. Have JoRam expiring and need to trade so looking for 3B upside bats. Do you any value to House or Meidroth? House has playing time and looks pretty solid so far.

Justin Mason: I dont think either has a ton of value moving forward so I would be looking for an imapct 3B back if I moved J-Ram

Justin Mason: Look at matchups for the most part. Certain guys will always start, but the questionable ones, I tend to play the matchups
