Greg: Keep forever league where I’m loaded at SS/3B. I give up Gunnar Henderson, Jordan Walker, Jazz Chisholm but get Kyle Tucker and Logan Webb. I’m very unlikely to keep Chisholm next year when he goes to OF only. Yes or no?

Justin Mason: That feels like a lot to give up to me personally. I understand doing it though if that is what helps you win now though

Mission From Rob: 10 Team CBS Points keeper – Do you prefer Braxton Garrett or Trevor Rogers ROS if looking for upside?? Thanks!

Justin Mason: Rogers definitely has the great upside, but he is much less likely to realize it given what we have seen.

Nick: OK to give up on Jose Miranda?

Justin Mason: At this point, yes

Mission From Rob: Also, 10 team CBS Points keeper…how likely is Michael Harris II to return top 40 OF value ROS?

Justin Mason: It is kind of a crapshoot. He definitely has the skills to do so, but the plate discipline issues are going to hold him back. I’d say 50/50

Globster: Thoughts on Maikel Garcia in KC? Could be some interesting fantasy juice there for deeper formats.

Justin Mason: He can definitely swipe a ton of bags if he gets regular playing time. There is good in zone contact ability and he is very fast and on a team that likes to run. I don’t know that there will be much power in that park given his profile, but decent average and speed for sure.

ChaCha: Will Endy Rodriguez or Luis Matos come up this year? Will they make a difference in a title run?

Justin Mason: I think both could be up at some point in the near future. Both have obstacles in their situation to being fantasy rich prospects though. I see Endy as more of a Keibert Ruiz kind of catcher that hits for average, but not much else. Matos has a crowded situation in SF and I don’t know that he can play center which is where the Giants really could use another outfield bat. Unless Mitch Haniger or Michael Conforto go down, I just don’t know where he plays.

Greg: How would you rank these ros? Siri, B. De La Cruz, Ward, N. Jones.

Justin Mason: Ward, De La Cruz, Jones, Siri

Gunnar: Any hope in Gunnar Henderson living up to the hype after this last week of being absolutely on fire?

Justin Mason: Still has massive issues versus left handed pitching. Hitting .195 vs southpaws this year and while he is hitting 1.000 versus them in June, it is only three plate appearances. If he can fix that issue, then yes, but we just haven’t seen enough.

Why not Zoidberg: I’m in an 8-team H2H league. Lost Vinny P and my best options appear to be Kiriloff, Bell, or Noda maybe. Been offered Goldschmidt for Eovaldi – think that’s even? I’d probably bring in someone like German, Paxton, Bibee to replace him.

Justin Mason: I would take Goldy in a heartbeat. Grab Paxton or Bibee off the wire.

Hank: Jamie Barria has some pretty interesting underlying stats. When he’s not @TEX do you see streaming viability there?

Justin Mason: He is definitely pitching over his head, but that doesn’t mean he can’t be a viable team streamer moving forward. I think he is probably a 3.7 type guy rest of the way with a 20-24% K rate.

Dave “Guetch” Laird: Any reason for me to pick up Dylan Carlson in a 12 team league?

Justin Mason: Probably not. I just don’t trust the playing time or his skills.

Pedro: Hi Justin.  Have a roster crunch in my AL only 5×5 – need to decide between Kepler & Olivares.  Thanks in advance

Ned: Cal Raleigh or Ty Stephenson 12tm 5×5? thx!

Justin Mason: Depends on team needs. Raleigh is better for power, but the average is awful.

schlub: 12 team 5×5, do you think Nate Pearson or Trevor Richards will become fantasy relevant with the Jays staff in flux?

Justin Mason: No, I think that Pearson stays in the bullpen to keep him healthy. Richard could be the answer in the short term but I think we kind of know what guy he is. I think the Jays add someone at the deadline.

Dave “Guetch” Laird: Wondering if I crapped the bed on not trading Greene when people were asking me about him a few weeks ago. Sounds like he could be out for awhile.

Justin Mason: There are multiple reports that include he may not miss as much time as we first thought, but I think it is still looking like a 6-week time table. I had him as a sell high a couple of weeks again in my Buy Low/Sell High article I write weekly on Fantasy Pros.

Shooter McGavin: Did Gunnar Henderson sacrifice a baby goat to the spirit of Cal Ripken?

Justin Mason: I think I would take the discount on Ryan for longer if I needed to move a CI

Dan: How high would you rank Jon Gray and Bobby Miller in RoS SP rankings?

Justin Mason: Both in the top 40-50. Skills could get them higher, but injury concerns are always there for Gray and I don’t know how many innings we see from Miller rest of the way.

Guest: would you drop grove for justin lawrence in an nl only? no real “need” either way just looking for best player, could use saves or starter ratios etc

Justin Mason: As long as it is not a keeper league.

ManChild: In a 12 team dynasty an underperforming team just put Verlander and Scherzer on the trade block with hopes to contend again in a couple of years. How should a contender value these 2 SPs? Offer younger players with a lower ceiling (Tyler O’Neill, Kyle Wright) or established mid-career good-but-not-great players (Robbie Ray, Stroman) or something else?

Justin Mason: When I am trading established players in a dynasty league, I prefer to get high upside talent even if it is years away. Getting guys like the ones listed don’t ultimately make you that much of a better competitor down the road.

ChaCha: NL only 4×4 roto league. Would you give up Tatis (2 year control) and Matos (5 year control) for Acuna (1 year control) in a win now move?

Justin Mason: Yes

Zack: 3 sport dynasty points league(MLB/NFL/NBA)  12 teams…im in the middle of the pack in baseball, debating on whether to become a seller, lost guys like Edwin Diaz and Rassmusen.  Thinking about putting Mookie on the block for pitching and possibly help in NFL, how many more peak years you think Mookie has left?

Justin Mason: I think Mookie has another 3-4 years of really great value. Every three sport league value’s differently, but I would want a pretty good football haul if I moved him since the lifespan of football players is so short.

ALF: I’m trying to shop Ruiz to teams in the league that need steals. Is Cruz in the IR for Ruiz a decent trade in a keeper league?

Justin Mason: It is not bad as long as you aren’t expecting much this year from Cruz

Mac and Me: Is Harper toast?  Who should I be targeting if I’m looking to move him in a 12 team OBP league?

Justin Mason: Toast? He has been good. The power will come back if that is what you are worried about. Don’t trade him.

Gary: Start Kyle Bradish this week home vs. TOR?  Other option is continuing to bet on the golden horseshoe stuck up Bielak’s backside (home vs. CIN).

Justin Mason: I am not risking Bradish against the JAys this week.

Zack: 14 team AL only Roto….It appears Gunnar Henderson is heating up,  does Volpe have a good chance to get hot soon?  They are my 2 best building blocks along with Kirby

Justin Mason: I think Volpe is overmatched a bit. He has the talent to get hot but I wouldn’t bet on it.

Rickey: How worried are you about Logan Gilbert? Thats two awful starts out of three. Would you consider sitting him this week for Louie Varland vs Det?  And would you start Michael Harris or Jose Siri this week, Siri with all the A’s matchups?

Justin Mason: I am literally writing Gilbert up as a buy low today. I am starting him versus CHW this week, but I understand sitting him for Varland with him going up against the Tigers.

Shooter McGavin: Do we really trust EDC to keep K% in check? Seems like a sell very high to me.

Justin Mason: I am writing him up today as a sell high. I don’t know his value is any better than right now.

v2morlew: In an NL only league and I’ve been hearing rumors that the Padres might move Soto at the Deadline.  If he goes to an AL team, it would be a hit to my outfield.  What are the odds of SD actually moving him this year, and should I try to sell on him now?

Justin Mason: I would be pretty surprised if they moved him after everything they gave up. I think they hold him for next season unless they got a similar haul to the one they gave up.

chad: has edward cabrera figured something out recently with the walks? or do you expect it to all come crashing down sometime in the near future?

Justin Mason: Seven walks in his last three starts doesn’t indicate much has changed for me.

Justin Mason: I know that three walks in his last two starts are an improvement, but the starts were also against KC and OAK.

Justin Mason: Not a ton. He is who he is.

Classified document shower guy: 12 team dynasty w/QS – Is Tyler Wells a sell high or is any of what he is doing sustainable?

Justin Mason: I think he can definitely sustain in that park, but I would try and sell. He is best suited for when he is at home or in good matchups on the road which can make him difficult to roster long term.

v2morlew: Is there any pitcher currently on the IL that you would consider it worth it to hold on to them for a 10+ team league?

Justin Mason: Woodruff

chad: jose abreu showing glimmers of life the past week. potential turnaround or a flash in the pan?

Justin Mason: He definitely is. He just can’t be as bad as he has looked prior to last week. I don’t think he returns to prime Abreu, but I picked him up in a few leagues.

Barney Gumble: Desperately need saves in a 5×5 roto 12-teamer where even setup guys are rostered. What players have the best chance at becoming closers post trade-deadline?

Justin Mason: Hunter Harvey. Maybe Nick Martinez if the PAdres trade HAder. Ottavino if the Mets move Robertson

Zeke: Dire straits with SP, Henry hasn’t been good, but PHI & CLE have been the worst teams against LHP.  Would I be better off with Ryne Nelson, Johann Oviedo, Yonny Chirinos or Zack Davies.

Justin Mason: I would roll with Oviedo over Henry

chad: how would you rank michael a taylor, siri and wiemer as a bench bat in a h2h ops league?

chad: is flaherty building any trust for you? BB is still high but hes been pitching better as of late

Justin Mason: The walks always make him a scary play but I am rolling with him in deeper formats.

Johnny5Alive: NL only dynasty roto league. I have painter as one of my minor leaguers. He’s throwing bullpens now. Before the injury he was a consensus top 3 sp prospect. Do you think he actually comes up and does anything or should you try to trade him for a right now upgrade? Fwiw I’m in 2nd with solid pitching.

Justin Mason: I think he comes up if he is healthy, but I am always scared about that type of injury being a huge issue at some point. I would probably try and wait until he debuts are is really close and then flip.

chad: is sonny gray a good sell high candidate atm?

Justin Mason: Absolutely. You guys are literally predicting my entire article I am writing later lol

Gary: Another one:  Michael Grove vs. CWS or Colin Rea at MIN this week?

Spach: 5×5 categories league. Got offered Trea Turner, Realmuto, and Schwarber for Vlad and Christian Jaiver. My pitching is great even without Javier. I’d have Walker and Naylor to fill in at 1B.. should I pull the trigger? I already have Murphy at C, so I’d end up trading one of my C

Braves Fan: 5×5 cat league. Nimmo and Pena have both been solid bench subs for me this year, would you drop either one to pick up Ward? my team is currently 1st in R and RBI, 3rd in HR, 6th in steals, and 2nd in AVG

Justin Mason: I could drop Pena for Ward, but if you need the SS I understand passing.

Taximan: Thanks for the chat!  11 team NL only 2C league, I just picked up Amaya as my 2nd C.  Playing time in our league is a factor to accumulate counting stats from your last couple of hitters.  Other available C are guys like Knizner, Stallings and Hedges.  Thoughts?

Lack of quality: Will the Marlins ever let someone besides Alcántara pitch more than 5 innings. Garret and Cabrera are both pitching well this year but have a total of 4 QS between them. I’m in a 5×5 shallow 10 reamer with QS so I’m wondering if I should keep Garret and Cabrera or chase QS from a lesser talented arm.

Justin Mason: They don’t have many reasons to push them to be honest. I also think they could go to a six man rotation once Rogers is back.

Old for my Age: Once Bo Naylor gets the call, Naylor or K. Ruiz ROS in a 20 team H2H league ? I keep waiting for Keibert to move toward his xStats, but so far it doesnt seem like its happening.

Nathan: Has Jordan Montgomery seemed to have turned a corner?  K’s so far seem to be down since coming back up.

Justin Mason: I think he has and has a great matchup this week versus my Giants who are not good versus lefties.

BTinVT: Teheran comeback. Thoughts?

Justin Mason: I doubt it lasts, but I am rolling with him in deeper leagues in good matchups.

Sean: You holding onto Seiya? I dropped a month ago, watched him get added for his hot streak, and then he got dropped again. I got him back last week. The utter lack of counting stats has been frustrating.

Justin Mason: Yeah, I think he will be fine. I believe in the talent.

Matt: Just traded Jazz for Berrios in Ottoneu. I need SPs (Urias, Nestor, Severino all hurt/struggling), and have had Jazz on the IL for a bit. Money is even. Thoughts?

Justin Mason: I don’t think I would of done that personally.

Frankie: Hey Justin, do we know when the Stuff+ metrics stabilize or can be reliable? They seem valuable but somewhat volatile.

Justin Mason: Better question for Eno, but I believe they stabilize pretty quickly. At this point they are stable for guys that have been pitching all year.

JW: Who is the best of this bunch ROS:  Civale, L. Varland, G. Whitlock, Smyly, or Ranger S?  Or would I be better off starting RP like Bryan Abreu or Alzolay? Really hurting in ERA in a 12tm standard 5×5. Thank you in advance

Nolan for ROY: Is Nolan Jones here to stay? He’s been killing it since the call up and the Rockies have so many injuries that they are being forced to play him. Seems like a waste to put him at first with his arm and speed but at least it gives them another option. Jones a top 30 OF Ros in shallow OBP leagues with 3 OF?

Justin Mason: Can never completely trust the Rockies, but this will be a good week for him to be tested since they are on the road all week. I think he can stick

Guest: Not sure if this is your wheelhouse. Curious about Kevin Alcántara‘s BB rate in high A. His last two years he had a 12% BB in each. This year is 3%. I get he moved up a league, but his K% has stayed almost identical.  How does that happen? Thanks.

Justin Mason: Better question for guys like Eric who get eyes on prospects that low. I would just be quoting other people tbh

Oddball Herrera: If you’re acquiring Trea for ROS (not keeper), would you pay first round value for him?

Dan: Looking to move Altuve in a 20-team dynasty – Andres Gimenez and a top 5, 2024 pick enough value?

Justin Mason: I think that is ok. Might ask for a little sweetener

Chauncey: 12 team mixed w/OPS instead of BA, how would you rank Seiya, Bellinger and Nootbaar ROS? Had high hopes for Seiya but he sucks as a basestealer and the power hasn’t really been there either.

Brooks: Shallow10Team H2H 5×5 plus OPS and Hits, and QS. Pitching is usually at a premium. Trade away Bryan Reynolds to get Hunter Brown? The Hits category makes Reynolds pop more on the auction calc.  Best free agent bats are Tim Anderson, Gunnar, Kelenic, Jordan Walker. Best free agent SP are E. Cabrera, Sandoval, Detmers, Kikuchi, Singer. Thanks!

Guest: What’s MacKenzie Gore‘s roster % going to be by the end of the year? He’s striking out everybody and his BB% is down over his last several starts, but the results aren’t there yet.

Correa: I traded Adames in a 10-team dynasty (standard cats plus obp/slg) and added Story as an IL stash. Need someone to bridge me to Story. Are you optimistic about Correa back soon? He’s pricey in our league and can thus be had for fairly cheap.

JW: Which 2 are the better starts this week with Batting Avg. being my weakest category (12 team standard 5×5):  E. Duran, K. Hayes, Jose Abreu,  or Taylor Ward.

Matt: How do you approach the idea of “fair value” in trades? For example, I’ve noticed that I haved crazy different valuations than league members often, and feel like I get quite a few “offensive” offers. In the offseason (Ottoneu) I thought about asking for $3 MJ Melendez to even out a trade, but figured that’d be offensive. Then he dropped MJ a few days later…opportunity missed (he went for like $10 at auction). But there’s gotta be the other side that if you just ask for anything, you lose credibility with other teams.

Justin Mason: Before I offer anything, I often reach out and talk with the person. Everyone values things differently so it is important to communicate. As long as I feel like the person is genuine and not trying to just rip me off, I will work through trades in messages before offering much of anything on a site.

Fisher Out!!!: Would you rather roster Alzolay or Leiter for saves? Does either grab the full time closer job?

Justin Mason: Alzolay, but I think it is shared.

stevietheshu: Love your work. In a 12 team, 6×6, with OBP. Do you see Triston Casas as a viable piece?

Justin Mason: At this point, not really.

Biebs: 16 team dynasty- what sort of young pitcher are you looking to get for Shane Bieber if I’m worried he’s toast? Any of eury, Bryce miller, or Grayson Rodriguez seem reasonable?

Justin Mason: I would take Eury in a heart beat. Might take any of them. Really worried about beiber.

Heed Nelp: Hi Justin, surely both options make you wince, but would you rather have Manaea or Lugo ROS in standard 5×5? In other words, do you prefer root canals or colonoscopies? Thanks again.

Hank: Thoughts on Lance Lynn ROS?  I thought he was turning the corner and then was terrible against a so-so Yankees lineup with their injuries. Do you prefer someone like Jon Gray (although Gray’s FIP, xFIP and SIERA suggest that some serious regression is coming).

Justin Mason: I honeslty have given up on knowing what to expect with Lynn. At this point it is blind faith

Doctored Balls: Any reason, in a 10-teamer, to hold a guy like Michael King on my bench when Barlow is available? Or just sit tight and wait for something to change as trades pick up?

Justin Mason: Nope

John: I’m in 10 team, H2H points league and it really seems like [good] pitching is clearly the edge this year. Which of Matt Olson, Vlad, Julio, or Austin Riley would fetch the most while losing the least in terms of replacement value ROS

MF Luder: Do you think Cody Bellinger will maintain his early season pace upon returning from IL?

Justin Mason: I hope so, but the underlying skills point to some regression.

Left Side Log Jam: 12 team h2h, keep 3 forever (rds 1-3): I need to drop or trade McLain or Royce Lewis… (I also have Devers and ELDC. So maybe trade ELDC per above comments?)

Justin Mason: Trade Lewis because of his injury history and I think you get the better haul

Justin Mason: I don’t think so. I think he is a hold

Kid: What is your take on Trout?  I get that he’s almost 32 and on the back 9, but I mean… guy still slugged .630 last year with 40 HR in just 119 games last year… and this year he’s striking out in bunches with probably the lowest OPS he’s ever had.  Freeman is 34, Mookie and Harper are 30, Goldy is 35… it’s not like those guys just fell apart overnight like Trout has.

Justin Mason: This is a slump. He will be fine.

De La Cruizin’ for a Bruisin’: 12T 5×5 H2H redraft. I have Bieber. Trying to sell high after this start, with limited luck. Would you trade him for Logan Webb, Cease, Musgrove, Gilbert, or aim higher for someone like Nola?

Justin Mason: I am fine swapping him for Gilbert or Webb, but I would try and get Nola
