Notable Workloads
•Tanner Houck, BOS: 32 pitches on Saturday. | Roster Resource
While both John Schreiber (11 pitches) and Matt Strahm (12 pitches) threw in Saturday’s game, neither had too high of pitch counts and could appear again in a save opportunity on Sunday.
•Colin Poche, TBR: 14 pitches on Saturday, back-t0-back days. | Roster Resource
A blown save for Poche, a hold for Jason Adam (13 pitches, back-to-back days), and a lot of bullpen usage in Saturday night’s extra-innings game make predicting who could fill in for a save opportunity nearly impossible. Brooks Raley 레일리 also recorded a hold last night and is the only reliever likely to appear in high leverage without the tag of “High Usage Alert” going into Sunday’s matchup with the Reds.
•Brett Martin, TEX: 10 pitches on Saturday, back-t0-back days. | Roster Resource
After Joe Barlow’s demotion, Martin has recorded back-to-back saves. Dennis Santana recorded a hold but blew a save opportunity on Saturday. Both are on “High Usage Alert” and that leaves Matt Moore, who recorded the win on Saturday, a likely candidate to appear in a save situation.
•A.J. Minter, ATL: 25 pitches on Saturday, back-t0-back days. | Roster Resource
Minter and Will Smith have been sharing closing opportunities while Kenley Jansen remains on the IL. Smith threw 15 pitches last night and could be the man ninth if a save opportunity is present on Sunday.
•Tanner Scott, MIA: 11 pitches on Saturday, back-t0-back days. | Roster Resource
There has been a lot of heavy bullpen usage for the Marlins in their last two games. Nearly all relievers who could fill in for a save opportunity are listed on “High Usage Alert” and are coming off of back-to-back games. Jimmy Yacabonis, Zach Pop, and Richard Bleier are all on rest and one of them may make an appearance in a save situation on Sunday.
•Hunter Strickland, CIN: 16 pitches on Saturday, back-t0-back days. | Roster Resource
Alexis Diaz and Jeff Hoffman should be available on Sunday.

Outlier Saves
•Corey Knebel, PHI | Roster Resource
Both Seranthony Domínguez and Brad Hand had been used in back-t0-back games prior to Saturday’s game against the Cardinals, each coming away from those appearances with a save and a hold. While they were not listed as being on “High Usage Alert”, a day of rest was likely needed. The former closer came into the game and recorded the save while giving up one walk, recording a groundout, and a fly-out. His defense put him in a sticky situation after the lead-off walk when an error caused runners to occupy first and third. Knebel kept his composure and got a big strikeout against Nolan Arenado and then two batted ball-outs to come away with the save. This was Knebel’s first save since June 10th and while it doesn’t seem he has re-taken his closer role, we’ll likely see more of this type of fill-in appearance moving forward. Knebel’s second half of June game logs look solid and if either Domínguez or Hand starts to falter, he could be given more opportunities to reclaim his role.
•Diego Castillo, SEA | Roster Resource
Paul Sewald was coming off a 30-pitch appearance on Saturday and was likely to be unavailable. Castillo was the man who got the call and while it wasn’t the most steady appearance, he recorded the save. He gave up two singles, which placed runners on second and third after a fielder’s choice out at first base, and intentionally walked the bases loaded with two outs. He was able to force a ground ball out to close out the game. Castillo has not been a factor from a fantasy perspective this year with only five saves and two holds. His last save came over a month ago on June 8th. Still, Castillo remains an option in the back end of the bullpen to pay attention to for streaming opportunities like last night.
