Notable Workloads
•Carlos Estévez, LAA: 10 pitches on Saturday, back-t0-back days. | RosterResource
Reynaldo López should be available if Estévez needs rest.
•David Robertson, MIA: 22 pitches on Saturday. | RosterResource
Tanner Scott (11 pitches on Saturday) should be available.
•Alexis Díaz, CIN: 21 pitches on Saturday. | RosterResource
Lucas Sims, who recorded the save on Saturday, should be available on Sunday after throwing only 11 pitches. It’s also possible Alexis Díaz gets a chance at redemption after the blown save on Saturday.
•Giovanny Gallegos, STL: 20 pitches on Saturday. | RosterResource
Gallegos is likely to go a second day in a row, but if he doesn’t and needs rest, “Reliever on the Rise” JoJo Romero should be available.
•Paul Sewald, ARI: 25 pitches on Saturday. | RosterResource
Sewald is no stranger to back-to-back days but if he needs rest on Sunday, Kevin Ginkel, Kyle Nelson, Scott McGough, and Miguel Castro are all options.

Kenley Jansen is sidelined with a hamstring issue, but may avoid the IL:
Red Sox closer Kenley Jansen said he feels good today and he’ll see how the hamstring feels in the coming days. He sounded confident he’d be able to avoid the IL. He talked about this being a crucial time and wanting to be out there

Chris Martin, the next man up in the bullpen, came in to get the last out in a crucial top of the eighth inning where the Dodgers had the bases loaded and Max Muncy at the plate. Martin got Muncy to strike out looking and Schreiber was brought in to close out the game in the top of the ninth. It wasn’t a shutdown inning, but it rarely is against the Dodgers. Schrieber gave up a single, then got a strike out, then hit a batter, then got a strike out, then gave up a walk. Schreiber was walking a tightrope with the bases loaded and up came Mookie Betts. Schrieber got him to pop up and secured the save in Fenway.
It’s not totally clear why Josh Winckowski was first in relief for James Paxton who only lasted 4.1 innings. It could have been due to the fact that Alex Cora was holding on to Brennan Bernardino, the only lefty in the Red Sox pen, for the right moment which ended up being a strikeout against Freddie Freeman. After that, Garrett Whitlock threw in the seventh and eighth, and Schreiber locked down the ninth. It was his first save on the season.
