Brad Johnson: For now, Adam Frazier will continue to absorb OF starts. Maybe we see some Bell out there too. Alen Hanson seems like he should be utile enough to do some OF too.

Chad: I know it’s probably going to be asked by everyone, but Meadows or Osuna for the call up given the Marte suspension?

Brad Johnson: Jose Osuna is another guy who exists. We’ll see him if they decide Meadows is not ready to be tested. Osuna’s development is less important.

No need to Panik: Can we expect 10 HR and 10 SB out of Joe Panik?

Brad Johnson: More like 7/7

Brad Johnson: 10/10 is maybe the 75th percentile

Thames 🙁: I thought Thames was supposed to steal 40 bags…overrated?

Brad Johnson: Somebody, I think it was Justin Mason, pointed out that his home runs have come against bad pitching. And I noted that about his KBO HRs during draft season

Brad Johnson: he’s a bad ball feaster. As for steals. I think we actually see him take a few, but he’s no rabbit

Evil Goatee Brad: If the A’s made the Wild Card game and had their choice, who would start the game?

Brad Johnson: I’d be starting a healthy Graveman

Evil Goatee Brad: In a 10-team, H2H league (+QS), I have a banged up rotation that includes several mid-tier guys. Yu Darvish and Jake Degrom are followed by Rich Hill, Dylan Bundy, Sean Manaea, Vince Velasquez, Jake Odorizzi, Kendall Graveman, Carlos Rodon, and Robbie Ray. What do I do with this mess?

Brad Johnson: Ohh…

Brad Johnson: Since it’s 10 team, I think you pick some guys to dump. For me, that’s Odorizzi, Rodon, and Ray. Maybe VV. My colleagues would tell you to dump the other guys most likely.

Neal: Thanks for chatting Brad. Do you like Puig for Billy Hamilton straight up in a 30 team dynasty roto, or should Billy’s steals demand more in return?

Brad Johnson: I’d want a lot more than Puig. I’d want somebody whose proven he’s Puig’s upside. Charlie Blackmon? Hamilton is an automatic 30 points in that format.

Brad Johnson: And more than good enough to start without reservation.

Make yourself Confortoble: Is Michael Conforto the 2nd best hitter on the Mets?

Brad Johnson: Probably. They have a lot of good not great hitters. Conforto is in that mess, but he has growth potential

JD15: Guy in my FGpts league has been after my Rich Hill pretty hard early going (including an offer yesterday). Would Nola and Finnegan be a fair ask in return?

Brad Johnson: Nola+ seems reasonable subject to costs

tuefel shuffle: thanks for the chat. need roster help if you can help. 5X5 12 man league. my pitching is very top heavy (kershaw, arrieta, cole and cotton…literally no other starters). do i trade beltran for wacha? or for shoe? or maybe rougie for duffy and bundy? or do i stick with what i got and get morton and mccarthy

Brad Johnson: if Morton is free, go get him

Brad Johnson: You can trade Beltran for a Wacha type too. Maybe look for something with a little more shine

Brad Johnson: I have not considered having thoughts about Trevor Cahill

Brad Johnson: In general, anybody with a pulse and a job is worth a flier in Only formats

Brad Johnson: Patience, treat him as right-handed Robbie Ray

Brad Johnson: when it clicks, he’s a top 5 overall pitcher. Most days, it doesn’t click.

Colin: Thoughts on Greinke going forward? He was just dropped in my shallow h2h. Guys like Liriano, J Ross, Urias also available.

Brad Johnson: Well…he’s a better pick up than the others you listed. He’s probably a fringe guy in shallow

Isaac: Concerned about Kluber? Could the long playoff run last year be affecting him?

Brad Johnson: Sure could. But he did a version of this last year too. Bounced back just fine.

JD15: Drafted Jeff Hoffman in FGpts, do you think he’ll get the call during Gray’s DL stint? If so, should I sell hype of a top prospect replacement or hold for potential benefits?

Brad Johnson: Sell. Coors HR are doom in FGpts. Hoffman doesn’t strike me as good enough to excel at Coors.

Cap it: Brandon Maurer is removed from the closer role by what date?

Brad Johnson: Depends entirely on Capps. He was hammered yesterday.

Josh: Are 10+ home runs realistic at this point from Andrus and Inciarte?

Brad Johnson: Well Inciarte already has 4. If he’s healthy and doesn’t reach 10…

Brad Johnson: I think Andrus can do it too

Brad Johnson: I’m projecting 12-15 for Inciarte with an outside chance for 20

Brad Johnson: we have to see the ground ball rate drop. He supposedly added lift to his swing, but he’s still 50% grounders

mookie best: when someone has an ops of say 1.200, do you say “one point two” or “twelve hundred?” i always said the former but recently said the latter on a whim and i’m not going back.

Colin: Do you prefer Brach or Benoit going forward? I like that Benoit has the current closer role, but Brach seems to be better, on a better team, and not much is known in regards to Britton injury

Brad Johnson: What’s available to replace him. For example, I dumped him for Logan Morrison maybe 10 days ago

Hans: Conforto worth grabbing even in 10-team? Leading off and playing center, and Terry’s gotta keep him in there, no?

Brad Johnson: Sure, though I would wait to see Familia lock down a couple

Brad Johnson: I prefer Velasquez by a hair. I’m below the industry consensus on both. The volatility is often ignored because of the upside.

Brad Johnson: You look very smart when one of those types turns into an ace while you were hyping him

Brad Johnson: but the percentage play is to go with a safer name

Brad Johnson: of course, sometimes you need to take big gambles due to your roster composition

Sam: Who will have the better season, Kenta Maeda or Michael Wacha?

Brad Johnson: Maeda is a much better pitcher

OC: Deep 20 team dynasty, what do I do with Tommy Joseph? Hope he rebounds a bit, or move some assets for an upgrade

Brad Johnson: Well, look around. I’m being patient though. Low OBP, high power bats are streaky
