Roto Riteup: April 29, 2015

Sure there are playoffs going on in some sports here, but across the pond the football season is in peak form. Chelsea hasn’t officially locked up the Premier League just yet and the UEFA Champions League semi-finals are happening next week. It’s a glorious time.

On today’s agenda:
1. Masahiro Tanaka to miss at least a month
2. Hurry up and grab Dexter Fowler
3. Keep an eye on Yangervis Solarte
4. Streaming Pitching Options

4. Streaming Pitching Options

Roto Riteup: April 24, 2015

Exactly twenty-five years ago the Hubble Space Telescope was launched into orbit. As the Bill Nye theme song once said, science rules!

1. Clay Buchholz’s excellent outing
2. Don’t overlook Yonder Alonso
3. Love/Hate Drew Hutchison
4. Streaming Pitching Options

Roto Riteup: April 23, 2015

Yesterday saw Avengers: Age of Ultron go live in theaters in select European countries, with more joining the list throughout the coming week. In my amateur opinion the first Avengers was grand and raised expectations for the follow up. In a week we’ll see if the hype was worth it as the domestic release is May 1.

On today’s agenda:
1. Hotter than Kolten lava
2. A (far too early) Steven Souza humble brag
3. Alex Guerrero, pinch hitter
4. Streaming pitching options

1. Drew Smyly may return Friday
2. Take note of Michael Saunders
3. Zack Cozart’s big day
4. Streaming Pitching Options

Roto Riteup: April 16, 2015

Despite baseball being my favorite sport, I frequently enjoy watching the U.S. national team. Last night’s friendly against Mexico wasn’t particularly pretty — the poor condition of the field made sure of that — but it was good entertainment while writing today’s Roto Riteup.

On today’s agenda:
1. Garrett Richards may return on Sunday
2. Quick thoughts on Odubel Herrera
3. Yasmany Tomas gets called up
4. Streaming Pitching Options

Early Season American League Outfielders I’m Buying

No one in either the American or National League has seen 50 plate appearances this season. At this point you’re probably all tired of the “small sample size” caveats but it is worth repeating. With that out of the way, these are two players, one mostly owned but struggling and one widely available I like.
